About this event
Breithorn Occidentale, Piramide Vincent, Balmenhorn and Punta Gnifetti, sleeping at Capanna Margherita. All in a single 5-day event where you will be trained by mountain guides through afternoon lessons. A real course to learn while climbing your first 4,000m peaks!
The following program may be subject to changes at the instructor’s sole discretion for weather reasons or glacier safety conditions.
- Day 1 Meeting in Cervinia around 11 AM, introductions and ascent to Rifugio Teodulo. Afternoon on the glacier where we will review rope maneuvers and glacier progression technique. Overnight at the hut with dinner.
- DAY 2 Early wake-up. Rope team formation and ascent to the first 4,000m peak, Breithorn Occidentale (4,159m). Descent to Cervinia and independent departure by car to Gressoney. Free dinner, overnight stay and breakfast at Hotel in Gressoney (included in fee, double/triple rooms, check-in from 3 PM to 9 PM, late check-in can be arranged).
- DAY 3 Meeting around 11 AM in Stafal to take the lifts to Rifugio Città di Mantova or Gnifetti. Theoretical-practical lesson on glacial terrain, crevasse rescue maneuvers. Dinner and overnight at the hut.
- DAY 4 Ascent to Capanna Margherita (4,554m), Europe’s highest hut. Dinner and overnight.
- DAY 5 Today’s objective will be no less: During the descent we will visit the Balmenhorn Bivouac with a snack break. Possible Piramide Vincent depending on group conditions. We will continue descending, happy to take home ascents worthy of the name.

Good physical condition. Trained person who practices sports even at a non-competitive level. Ability to tackle summer trekking around 1,500m elevation gain without fatigue. Person accustomed to long mountain treks who has been practicing for years.
- Mountain Guide Instructor for the duration of 5 days;
- 1 night in Gressoney at a Hotel (in double/triple room, overnight stay and breakfast included in the fee!)
- Common equipment (ropes, carabiners, etc.)
- All overnight stays in huts (except the Gressoney hotel which is included);
- Mountain guide meals (to be shared among group participants)

IMPORTANT!!!
The huts have already been booked by Adventure Dreamers. We have also paid the booking deposits.
The hut balance must be paid within and no later than 1 month from the event start date.

Winter mountain clothing, “layered” clothing recommended, i.e., with various layers to adjust based on temperature:

- two pairs of snow gloves (one warm and one lighter and more sensitive)

RENTAL
The request for rental equipment must be communicated in advance, at least one week before the event start. However, we recommend communicating this when purchasing the event. The guide will bring all the equipment directly to the event.

It is possible to organize cars from Milan, Turin or major urban centers and share travel expenses. Also for those arriving by public transport to Aosta. Transportation organization is personal. It can be organized among participants on a WhatsApp group created by us to share cars.

Cars will be left in Cervinia and picked up on the second day to move to Gressoney. From day 3 to day 5, cars will be left at the cable car parking lot of the Staffal facilities, Gressoney.

In case of bad weather that prevents one of the course days from taking place, training activities will be proposed in a sheltered environment to learn and consolidate all progression and safety maneuvers in mountain environments.
No refunds are given if a group member is unable to reach the summit or if the guide decides to descend due to group capabilities or weather conditions.

• BAD WEATHER: The decision regarding the cancellation of an outing rests with the mountain guide. The mountain guide will evaluate the feasibility of the ascent case by case. In case of cancellation, no refund is provided but a lesson will be conducted in a sheltered environment. Usually dawn is stable in the mountains, to ensure the success of the course, schedules may be varied
• NON-PARTICIPATION: if you are unable to participate due to personal reasons, no refund will be possible.
• MINIMUM NUMBER NOT REACHED: if the group of participants does not reach the minimum number, you will be entitled to a refund or you can use the fee for any other event. It’s your choice!
