Reach the summit of Barre des Ecrins (4102) and Dome des Neiges 4,015m in the Ecrins massif, Dauphiné. In 5 days you will be able to do other mixed climbs in the area. Leader level: lead a team and learn the basic techniques of a mountain guide to manage other people in the mountains. This internship is the last step in the growth of our high altitude courses.
Schedule
The following program may be subject to change at the sole discretion of the instructor for weather reasons or safety conditions on the glacier.
DAY 1
• Meet directly at the Refuge du Pré de Madame Carle, in Alefroide at approximately 10.30 am (or directly near Turin to share the journey at 9.00 am). Presentations and movement to the crag.
• Morning and afternoon at the crag where we will tackle rope maneuvers and the leader’s rock progression technique
• Dinner, overnight stay and breakfast in the refuge
DAY 2
• Breakfast around 6:00/7:00 am and ascent of the south ridge of Agneau Noir via the Tuckett glacier. Management of the consortium by the participants under the supervision of the guide.
• Descent towards the Refuge du Glacier Blanc. Dinner and overnight stay
DAY 3
• Breakfast approximately 5:00/6:00 am. Ascent along the south ridge of the Pic du Glacier d’Arsine. Management of the consortium by the participants under the supervision of the guide. Descent towards the Refuge des Ecrins.
• Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 4
• Breakfast approximately 5:00/6:00 am. Climb along the south face of Roche Faurio where we will encounter ideal working terrain on the final ridge. Descent to the Refuge des Ecrins.
• Dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 5
• Breakfast approximately 4:00/5:00 am. Climb towards the Dôme de Neige des Écrins. Rope management on crevassed and steep glacial terrain. Return to the Refuge du Pré de Madame Carle around 4:00/5:00 pm, final briefing and farewells.

Having participated in one Advanced Stage
of Adventure Dreamers or present a training and climbing curriculum out of 4000 of the same level.

Required personal equipment
• Layered clothing suitable for high mountains (See FAQ below)
• Harness, crampons, ice axe, helmet (can be rented – See FAQ below)
• Sunglasses (at least cat. 3, preferably 4), sun cream, hat, neck warmer, two pairs of snow gloves, thermos or water depending on the temperature, 30/40 liter backpack
• Waterproof, cramponable or semi-waterproof, high-ankle mountain boots

– 5 days with a mountain guide
– Membership in the Adventure Dreamers group in your region, being able to participate in free self-organised activities of our members throughout the year.

RENTAL The request for rental equipment must be communicated in good time, at least one week before the start of the event.
However, we recommend communicating this when purchasing the event. The guide will bring all the equipment directly to the event.

ORGANISING WINTER COURSES
• FAILURE TO PARTICIPATE: if you are unable to participate due to personal reasons it will not be possible to receive a refund.
• FAILURE TO REACH THE MINIMUM NUMBER: if the group of participants does not reach the minimum number, you will be entitled to a refund or you can use the fee for any other event. It’s your choice!
• INAPPROPRIATE EQUIPMENT: it is not possible to receive a refund if you do not have the mandatory technical equipment and/or unsuitable clothing. In this case the guide may decide not to let you participate in the climb • FAILURE TO REACH A PEAK: in case of failure to reach a peak foreseen in the program, no refund will be provided.
• OTHER CAUSES: for any other cause of cancellation on our part you are entitled to a refund.
• COVID OR OTHER ILLNESSES/INJURIES: there is no refund due to COVID, various injuries or other illnesses. No refunds will be given if a member of the group is unable to reach the summit or if the guide decides to descend due to reasons due to the group’s abilities or the weather.
The group agrees to respect the unquestionable judgment of the Alpine Guide and that nothing is owed by the organization.
